In the elven kingdom of Wykonia, an ancient prophecy is about to come to fruition. To save the land from predicted fiery destruction, battle sorceress Mia must find the One From Afar, the hero foretold by the ancient books of K’nava’lan. In the city of Seattle, Andrew Grant is down on his luck. Stuck in a job he hates, with no car, no girlfriend and no prospects, he needs a change, a purpose, some meaning and hope. To be valued for who he is. Worlds collide when Mia’s spell chooses Andrew, summoning him across universes. The elven mercenaries expected a fierce warrior. Instead, they’ve got a bookish, wisecracking geek. But Mia trusts in the magic, even if Andrew doesn’t. Together, Andrew, Mia, and a trio of brave swordswomen who are her closest allies, embark on a perilous quest to fulfill Wykonia’s predicted destiny. Journeying in the company of the strong and beautiful elves, Andrew starts to see there might have been some logic to the magic after all, that Wykonia needs him for the mission and much more.
Assuming a mysterious foe doesn’t kill him first. Not to mention the prophesized dragon....
PROPHECY AND THE PAINTED is an epic-length, cozy fantasy, containing depictions of unconventional relationships, straight and LGBTQ people, a metric ton of explicit mature content, progressive politics, geek references, good jokes, bad jokes, and very bad jokes. Also a dog (sort of).
